I’m a professional photographer based in Bolton. I work all across the UK but mainly in Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Merseyside.
About my private and commercial photography
I cover:
creative and cultural events (e.g. outdoor arts and heritage, music festivals, workshops)
brand photography for businesses and independent freelancers
small weddings, civil partnerships and elopements
business awards and conferences
private party photography for christenings, anniversaries and other occasions.
About my creative practice
My practice is predominantly socially engaged and focuses on exploring people, place and heritage through portrait, social and documentary photography. I create work in collaboration with communities on subjects that matter to them.
I’ve exhibited work at various museums and galleries including Open Eye Gallery, RPS Gallery Bristol, Museums Northumberland, Warrington Contemporary Art Festival, HOME and Bolton Museum and Art Gallery.
My work has been published in a range of national and specialist media including the BBC and The Guardian. I was shortlisted for Portrait of Britain volume 6 in 2023 and RPS Science Photographer of the Year in 2019.
I was awarded Developing Your Creative Practice by Arts Council England in 2021. I received a Project Grant in November 2022 to deliver ‘Whose menopause?’ an inclusive socially engaged project which explores people’s experience of menopause in Bolton.
